MEET OUR RB FAMILY: SHARON

Richmond Brothers team is the almond butter to our jelly, the Simon to our Garfunkel, the wind to our wings. Without our team we never could have accomplished all we have today. It has been some time since we publicly thanked each and every one of them for all they have done, so we wanted to take the next few months to showcase our “peeps” and why they are so important to us. We hope you enjoy these posts as a way to really get to know those that make up your financial cheerleading team, too. –Tara Furnas, Vice President & Co-Owner

For those of you who haven’t yet met her, Sharon officially serves as our Director of Communications. She is instrumental in helping us execute our marketing and communications plan, ensuring it is done timely, efficiently and with excellence. In addition, she keeps our databases “pure,” confirming that all client electronic files are updated with current information, as well as updating them after every phone call, meeting and note. Although she may prefer to stay out of the spotlight, she is always working for our clients and is involved in every communication received.

Sharon told us that her favorite thing about her time with Richmond Brothers has been the people. She said that she loves the culture as it makes it a fun place to come into every day. We know that Sharon has definitely helped in making our culture so fantastic, too. Just read a few things about her below and find out just how unique of a woman she is!

Most unusual item in desk drawer – Maybe my floss? Ha! Gotta keep my teeth free of food!
Best Childhood Memory – My favorite childhood memories are of going camping every year with my family. My oldest siblings and I would spend the whole week on our bikes riding around trails, going to the beach and just having a really good time together. Just a simple thing, but every summer we would get super excited about the camping trip.
First car (what you loved or hated about it) – A red Hyundai Excel. I hated it because it was so ugly, didn’t have power steering and broke down a lot. See the pic below. That’s exactly what it looked like.

Silly mistake you made that taught you a lesson – When I was about 13 my brother had a target set up in the house and was practicing shooting his bow and arrow (not sure why my parents let him do that in the house). I decided to give it a try and shot an arrow into a window. I learned that you shouldn’t handle any kind of weapon unless you know how to properly use it!
Something funny about your pet (dog, Wrigley) – We always laugh about Wrigley because he barks like crazy at the door when a delivery person rings the doorbell and leaves a box. Once we open the door he sees this box there and attacks it. He always leaves puncture holes from his teeth in the box and we’re pretty sure that he thinks the box rings the door bell and then sits there outside of our door for him to attack! He has yet to see an actual delivery person.
Guilty pleasure – Pizza and gummy bears!!
Bucket list – One item on my list is to try visiting every state in the US. So far I’ve only been to 9…just a few more to go!
Pet peeves – I cannot stand talking during a TV show or when someone chews with their mouth open!

Sharon – we are so blessed to have called you our teammate these past seven plus years. Thank you for helping to make Richmond Brothers such a wonderful “home away from home”! And a special thank you to husband Corey and children Emily and Logan for letting us “steal” some time from your lovely wife and mother!
