A program of fantasy, drama and passion! Ravel wrote his Mother Goose Suite as a piano duet and later set the work for strings, winds, and percussion. Stravinsky's Petrouchka is also a fairy tale but of the Russian variety. Originally a ballet, this piece colorfully tells the story of a puppet that comes to life. Closing the program will be Rachmaninoff's blockbuster hit, Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Rich textures and harmonies will wash over the audience, complementing the stunning lyricism and virtuosity of the piano.

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival will present a pre-season concert with Grammy-Award winning artist Bonnie Raitt on Friday, May 25th at Hill Auditorium. The legendary singer/songwriter/guitarist returns to Ann Arbor in support of her newest album, Slipstream (release date: April 10). Special guest, Marc Cohn, will open the show.

Cruise Ins have become a very popular and anticipated event in Jackson, attracting hundreds of classic cars, antiques, street rods, and more, to the downtown streets. Live entertainment, radio broadcasts, and a vendor area with food and merchandise will also fill the Downtown. A “Best in Show” winner will be chosen at each Cruise In and all cruisers can enter to win DDA Gift Certificates. In addition to the cars and entertainment on the street, many Downtown restaurants feature entertainment while merchants offer sales and specials in their stores. Street closings, directing the cruisers to the appropriate parking spots, are posted on the DDA’s website.
