DAVID S. RICHMOND, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS
Chairman & Co-Owner
David is a founding partner and President of Richmond Brothers, Inc. Dave is responsible for all client investment planning, research, investment recommendations, allocations and implementation. He also handles all of the strategic planning for the business. From the time he was a teenager setting prep basketball records at Northwest High School, Dave has pursued lofty goals and expected success.
He began making a living in the financial services industry at the age of 18, and started working as a financial planner at the age of 20 while attending Michigan State University. As a personal financial strategist and retirement distribution professional, Dave helps retirees invest lump sum distributions. He can help manage lump sum distributions within IRAs and help structure retirees’ income through regular distributions from the IRA that function like a paycheck. His planning helps his clients retire comfortably; his financial management helps them avoid undue risks and accomplish a client’s final request: getting assets to those that matter most to clients, their beneficiaries, in the most tax efficient manner possible. Dave earned his Master of Science in Financial Services.
Dave also focuses on Philanthropic Financial Planning to help clients continue to support those organizations that mattered most to them in life, in perpetuity. In 2013, he earned his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from The American College. Dave credits his beautiful bride, Stephanie and their two children, Taylor and Hunter, for his inspiration and energy. Dave is also active in several charities including Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church, The Lingap Center Children’s Foundation, and The American Cancer Society’s Tony Open. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees for Siena Heights University. Dave’s interests are sports, anything competitive and reading. He is also an advanced open water certified scuba diver and licensed general aviation pilot.
Dave’s thoughts have been highlighted in many national publications including, but not limited to: The Wall Street Journal, USAToday, MarketWatch, Fox Business, CNN Money, US News & World Report and The Street.com. For more information and to read the articles, visit our In The Media page.
